AA Van Insurance makes excellent sense for any small business that relies on its van for its activities, and the comprehensive options and cover available with AA Van Insurance are probably adequate for most small-business owners, but for some business owners, and in certain situations, then AA Short-term Van Insurance is also useful.

A separate short-term van insurance policy from AA allows you to drive another vehicle without putting the no-claims bonus on your own main vehicle insurance at risk. There are a number of advantages to obtaining short-term van insurance, which include: temporary additional drivers; temporary additional vans; unaccompanied vehicle demonstrations; lending a van to a friend, colleague or relative; and immediate drive-away insurance if you've just bought a van.

The main conditions for obtaining short-term van insurance from AA are: any van you can drive with a standard UK driving licence; any person who has been resident in the UK for 12 months or more; drivers aged between 18 and 75; and fairly standard driving license conditions, which can be seen in full on the relevant AA Van Insurance page.

Besides all the standard features available with AA Van Insurance, some of the additional options which customers can choose to add on include:

While it's true that each of these additional options represents a small additional expense, compared to the amount of business that could be lost, or other expenses that might be incurred without them, then it's easy to argue that they actually represent a very sound investment.

With AA Van Hire Cover, for example, for a very nominal amount, AA Insurance will provide a replacement vehicle when your van is being repaired after an accident, or if it has been stolen or declared a total loss, or a hire vehicle of similar size for up to three weeks if you have comprehensive cover, and up to two weeks with third-party, fire and theft cover. Even on its own AA Van Insurance provides a good amount of cover, and the cost is very competitive compared to similar insurance policies. However, with AA Van Insurance you also have the opportunity to add a number of other options to your van insurance too; for example:

AA UK Roadside Service provides assistance if you break down more than a quarter mile from your home or office address, while AA UK Home Start provides breakdown assistance if you break down within quarter mile from your home or office address. AA Relay provides for transportation of your vehicle and driver, and up to seven passengers, to a UK mainland destination if speedy local repair is not possible.

If your business depends on your van, then it makes a lot of sense to get a good van insurance policy, and in terms of cost, coverage, and options available, they don't come much better than AA Van Insurance.
